Thanks I really enjoyed reading about this exciting advance . This looks like it has promise as a transport system in areas that don't have existing infrastructure.
At half the cost of a conventional rail system it should garner interest from many areas and from other potential users. I wonder how it would work in remote parts of Manitoba Canada where transportation infrastructure is cost prohibitive using traditional methods.

This is a mesage to the millitant moron, Jay. If you are reading this my friend, you are probably the biggest hypocrite know to man. You are using a product that without the benefit of mining, would not be possible. I suggest that you learn a little more about the requirements that mines need to adhere to before they are even allowed to begin operating. You are a disgrace to the human race pal, with such a narrow minded view of the world, you are reason enough to question the validity of Darwin's Theory. Maybe the world will be blessed by you deciding to "wage war" without using anything provided by the mining industry, which should leave you isolated, lonely and thankfully, silent.

The specious argument of Frank Sartor is precisely the one condemned by the Bali Summit... that australias emissions of 1.5% of global CO2 means we should do nothing about it but expect everyone else to fix the problem. If you've ever been to Anvil Hill and seen the Hill and its surrounds - CastleRock, The Book, Wallaby Rocks, Manobalai Cliffs, Wybong Creek, Myambat, Sandy Hollow, Wollemi NP and the desert of the Central Hunter Valley Floor you'd know why mining Anvil Hill is an ecological disgrace. As usual however none of the pro-mining advocates live anywhere near these evil, stenching pits of CO2 and NOX. They simply come, rape the area, rake off the obscene wages of evil, and fly away. NSW under Sartor is going the way of Nauru. Those who live in The Wybong will NEVER let Anvil Hill be destroyed. We will wage war against any who dare defile our last remaining old growth valley floor forest. Be warned.

Now 50% of the population that used to live and operate rural properties in Wybong (around Anvil Hill) have been displaced. Homes are empty, falling into disrepair, properties deserted, noxious weeds and feral species taking over. What was once a communal hive of human endeavour and carefully tended regeneration is laid waste. Soon, supposedly, it will become a cavernous hole exuding stench, noise, light and carbon dioxide to further destroy the planet on which we depend. Great companies Centennial Coal and Xstrata - world destroyers. The sooner they are hit with carbon taxes around the world the better for all humanity. We will fight to the death to see that the mine is never commenced. Viva La Wybong ! 10/1/2007

Hi folks, I recently read and article on the skills shortage in the mining industry. I offered my services as a highly skilled administrator and project manager to Hays Recruitment (Natural Resources and Mining) in WA and was told there was no point in applying for jobs unless I had specific experience working in a mining site. I’m a bit confused…. Here I am with 10 years of admin experience behind me, willing to work in a remote community, offering my services to an industry that’s meant to be desperate and they say you have to have direct and specific mining experience. Does anyone know how I can get a job in a mine? My email is rachbyrnes@hotmail.com Thanks!!

Hi Calvin
Your manifesto is a clear concise marketing and sales guide that could be applied to virtually any industry where it is necessary to know your customers true "needs" and to market solutions - products and/or services - to satisfy those needs as benefits.
Well done.
